Idaho Botanical Gardens
October 2008
Our Idaho Botanical Gardens Paint Out didn’t fare as well with weather. We had rain and the
largest snow flakes I have ever seen coming down upon us. (So, to plan B) We went to
Edwards Garden Center off of Hill road and painted in the warmth of their wonderful greenhouse.
Thank you Edwards! This event welcomes ALL painters to join us. The only charge is entry to
The Botanical Garden. We had great lunches from THE BRICK OVEN BISTRO, and MESA TAQUERIA.
Our reception on Sunday at the Botanical Garden had cool temperatures but the sun was out and warming.
The Boise High School string quartet entertained us while we had pastries from LA VIE EN ROSE
that were out of this world. Yumm!
Along with the music and the pastries we presented our $500.00 scholarship for fine art to
Kelsey Buerstetta. This is the 2nd year of the scholarship competition and the 2nd year that
a Timberline High student from Patricia Thorpe’s class was selected.
Congratulations to both Kelsey and Patricia.
