After our first four years as a group, founding members and signature artists wished to expand opportunities for camaraderie and mentoring within the group and so a General Membership category was established. In addition, affiliates--those members who belong to other groups such as the Snake River group, watercolor society, Centennial Art Association etc., and associates (those who may have left Idaho but are still Idahoans at heart) have the opportunity to participate at some level within the group. These memberships are ongoing but signature membership is closed until our art advisors decide to jury in additional members, at which time a deadline for applications will be posted.

Chelsea Cordova

Chelsea resides in Coeur d'Alene with her husband and two small children. The beautiful variety of scenery in North Idaho is a constant source of inspiration and motivation to paint en plein air.
Chelsea painted her first painting at the age of 5 when her mother purchased a paint-by-number kit for her. Since then she has been experimenting with one form of art or another. She spent a few years focusing on painting murals until she decided to start a family. These days she mostly paints oil landscapes on canvas instead of walls.
Formerly Chelsea studied watercolor and design but it was the many workshops, private lessons in oil painting, and the practice of outdoor painting that has really helped develop her style of landscapes which results in work with a loose, painterly quality. This impressionistic style is what she would like to master, perhaps eventually painting more abstractly.
For Chelsea being an artist isn't a goal that one aspires to but a life style that one chooses to live which involves the continuous practice of experimentation, examination and creation; a process of learning that never stops.

Jane Hulsey

Jane Hulsey was born in Missouri, spending childhood years in the Midwest and southern Florida. An adventurous move to Jackson, Wyoming as a young woman enamored her to the grandeur of the West. The rugged wilderness captured her heart. Settling in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1986, she has come to love the immense expanse of ultramarine blue sky and far away vistas of Idaho. Jane studied art at Mineral Area College and under the tutelage of Robert Moore and John McClusky. Because of her fascination with color and form, oil painting has become a wonderful venue for her creative expression. Plein aire painting offers her the opportunity to witness the stunning beauty of our Mother Earth and the privilege to translate her impression for others to enjoy. Jane’s still lifes, florals, and heads also emphasize her affinity for color and shape on canvas.

Nolan C. Olson

Nolan Olson is an Idaho native, but over the years he has lived in other parts of the United States and abroad. He currently lives in Idaho Falls. Nolan was educated as an engineer. With the exception of some workshops, he is largely a self-taught painter. He often jokes that both sides of his brain actually work! However, painting is taken very seriously by Nolan and he is constantly trying to increase his capabilities. He regularly paints from life with other artists. Plein air painting is increasingly a passion for him, which he believes is a true manifestation of the artist within and the reaction to the scene at hand. Nolan is never more at peace than when he is painting and particularly when it is in plein air.
