Tricia May was born in New Jersey, but raised and educated in southern California. You can see the influence of the California sunlight in her work. When she moved with her family to Boise, Idaho in 1992, her subject matter expanded to include the western landscape. Idaho’s beautiful scenery lends itself to plein air painting, Tricia’s greatest passion. “Combining painting and the outdoors is the most fulfilling way to spend a day.” Many small landscapes painted outdoors become inspirations for the larger works done in her studio. She is also becoming known for her colorful still life painting.
