Creativity connects me to everything. It is this connection that
I call upon when attempting to paint the natural world. The life of
my subject becomes one with me. This process can be an
amazing experience or it can be frustrating beyond belief.
Either way, I understand myself a little better each time I
stand in front of a blank canvas. I affirm to myself that I
am connected to and immersed in all the colors of the light.
I was taught that light and color is the language artists
speak to the viewer. A successful painting depends on
mastering this language. |
