As a merit member of Idaho Watercolor
Society, I try to convey my appreciation of both natural
and cultural environments, and frequently their
interaction. Paintings of waterlilies on Chatcolet Lake, for example, allude to Coeur d'Alene Tribal
traditions; lichen-threatened petroglyphs cling to
boulders facing the Snake.
As an artist rostered with the Idaho Commission on the
Arts, I try to encourage an appreciation of visual arts
by people of all ages. Believing art is an invitation, I
employ innovative painting styles that encourage
insightful responses from others as well as myself.
Outcrops from the Bighorn Crags morph into painted human
forms; flamboyant golden glows mock the disrepair of an
abandoned farm house. High elevation bear grass.
Tiny, background snowdrops. Sunrise along the Salmon.
I want each painting to be a visual poem with a touch of
magic.
